Oct 13, 2018 With the most recent free to play launch of Maplestory 2 that made it available on Steam there has been huge growth of the Maplestory 2 player-base. Because of this we have decided to write a detailed Maplestory 2 Best Beginner's Class and Build Guide that will help all the new players find their way through the Maplestory 2 world.
NOTICE: As of November 30, 2016 (GMS v178 - Limitless), the visual damage range cap has been raised to 99,999,999. The primary motivation behind the creation of this tool was to enable accurate computation of damage ranges beyond 2m~2m. Thus, this damage calculator is essentially obsolete, except in the following situations: (1) players are able to surpass 99,999,999 damage range, and (2) for players who wish to calculate damage ranges based on hypothetical upgrades or downgrades in equipment, skills, and/or stats. In addition, final damage is now included in the damage range calculation; if your class has a skill that gives final damage, you should fill in your % FINAL DMG in the designated box.
Lissandra is in the same boat, all spells are AOE dmg, but her damage isn't as high as Ziggs I belive. Orianna, Xerath, Viktor and Annie could also use special mention. Also technically Karthus' and Anivia have infinite AOE damage (assuming mana) but I don't think that's realistic for this question. This is a list of the champions and their base attack damage at level 1, attack damage growth and attack damage at level 18. No abilities passive, active or innate are included in this list. Item-gained damage. Mar 09, 2013 Her ultimate is a massive AoE, high-damage knockup. A good Zyra can carry games. Just remember to build Zhonya's when everyone starts roaming, because she's a really good champion to focus in a fight with her ability to stand on the fringes and ruin your team's day. Orianna also has decent AoE. Feb 26, 2014 Brand has a lot of AOE damage. As does Gragas. Annie can do a surprising amount due to Tibbers burn. Xerath has a fair bit of AOE damage although he's more about poking from range than pure bursting now. (although his ult is a terrifying thing.) Anivia is pretty nice if you don't mind sustained AOE damage. Most AP champs have good AOE really. https://hilljarkakin1988.mystrikingly.com/blog/champions-does-massive-aoe-dmg.
A common misconception in MapleStory is that the maximum damage range is 2m~2m. While this is the maximum displayed damage range, there is no bound on the actual damage range. The creation of this tool was motivated by this fact, and is intended to allow funded players to monitor the effects of their upgrades after 2m~2m range. As such, this calculator is optimized for high-level players. In particular, it is assumed that the character has maxed out all mastery and relevant passive skills all the way through 4th job.
It is recommended that you watch the tutorial video before using the calculator.

In Maplestory 2 players will be able to closely define their role by the class played. Unlike the original MapleStory, there are no subclasses which upgrade into more advanced classes. Class specialization and customization are instead determined by the Skills a player takes within that class.
For example, in the original MapleStory, a player would start as a Magician. Two possible options to class change to after were Fire/Poison Wizard and the Ice/Lightning Wizard. In MapleStory 2, a player can choose to be a Wizard and will always be a Wizard throughout the game. Instead, a player can choose to take Fire element skills to be a Fire-specialized Wizard, Ice element skills to be an Ice-specialized Wizard, etc. Since skills can be freely reset, it is possible for players to create several skill builds for one class to specialize in rather than be locked to a single specialization.
